Girls Basketball Wins Back to Back CIF Championships

For the first time in WCHS recorded history, a girls’ team won back to back CIF Championships! Congratulations Lady Heralds on a superb season.

Your Lady Heralds won a second consecutive CIF Division VAA championship on Saturday, March 1, defeating Maranatha 37-31 at the Pyramid of Long Beach State University. It was their third victory this season over the Minutemen of Maranatha, the other two coming in league play. The Lady Heralds compiled a record of 24-8 this year, including an undefeated Alpha League season of 10-0. This totals a combined record over the past two seasons of 47-15 overall and 19-1 in Alpha League play.

Thanks to our many fans and supporters. Your willingness to travel to the far corners of the earth, such as Thousand Oaks and Bakersfield, really helped the girls come out to play each game. Your positive energy was a huge boost for team morale. Cheer and band, your support was awesome as well. We couldn’t have asked for better school spirit.
