Financial Aid at WCHS
We believe every student who belongs at Whittier Christian should have access to the opportunity, growth and community found here. Financial aid is available to families with demonstrated need and is awarded in the form of grants that typically range from 5 - 35% of annual tuition. In exceptional cases, awards may reach up to 50%. All applications are evaluated through FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment, with final decisions made by the WCHS Financial Aid Committee. Required documents include recent tax returns and W-2 forms.
Families must reapply for financial aid each year. Students receiving aid are expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and demonstrate satisfactory citizenship in each class. School involvement beyond the classroom is strongly encouraged and may be considered as part of continued eligibility. Once your Admissions Application is complete, you may begin the financial aid process through the FACTS online system. Because funds are limited, early submission is strongly encouraged. Financial aid awards are not released until an admissions decision has been made.
Timeline for Financial Aid
Priority applications open on November 1. For best consideration, submit by January 19 to receive your award decision by the end of January. Applications received by February 10 will be included in a February 21 release. After that, financial aid is offered on a rolling basis as funds allow.
Academic Merit Scholarship
A limited number of Academic Merit Scholarships are available each year for incoming 9th grade students who have demonstrated exceptional academic ability. Awards of up to $2,500 are based on 7th and 8th grade academic performance, submitted schoolwork samples, a short written essay titled “Why Do You Want to Attend WCHS,” and recommendations from current math and English teachers. Applications must be submitted by March 21. Scholarship decisions will be announced in late April. To apply, download and complete the Academic Merit Scholarship packet.
Community Support
We believe that every student should have the chance to experience the difference a WCHS education can make. Thanks to the generosity of our donor community, we are able to offer financial support to families who otherwise could not afford full tuition. These donors are mission partners who believe in making Christ-centered education accessible.
